Furthermore, drones are able to carry thermal camera, and they can be more efficient from a high point.
Their abilities to hand out precious data in real time, as well as their ability to quickly cover large distances, are not to be underestimated in many situations.
Recon drones are equipped with advanced sensors such as high-resolution cameras, InfraRed detectors, LiDAR scanners, or electronic surveillance equipment, which datas can be essential for decision-making on multiples scales.

For decade, the only possibility for reconnaissance missions was to send soldiers, who had to go through extreme heat or cold, dry environment, hard to cross terrain, wild animal’s territory and so on, leading to human loss, harm, or even making the reconnaissance impossible. But now with UAVs, none of those parameters is a problem.Because of the nature of how they’re built, they are able to endure extreme temperatures, going into minus and over 50°C. Their environment is no way near close to being an obstacle for them.
